LAZINESS CAN STOP YOU
Matthew 25:31
'When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory:'
Look at someone and say, "Laziness can Stop you", and "Hell is waiting, Just for you." Attitudes like laziness can and will not only damage our lives, but they can reck the lives of others and they will altimitly break the heart of God. How many know that today, you matter to the heart of God. Now to understand Jesus perspective on laziness we must embrace the Jewish tradition of Jesus that taught that laziness or procrastination imposed on the the value of time, and time should be considered highly valued. And something that should not be wasted. How many know for a fact, you have wasted some time in your life before. So before we get deep into this text, i do think it is important to differentiate the Sin of Laziness from the Traumatic Accourances tat could have removed a neutral or forward movement from our lives, there are things in our lives that can and could make time stand still. In light of occurrences that could stop our forward progress. I believe that there are people who have been labeled as Lazy who might have gotten the wrong tag, as a result of circumstances beyond there control, as a matter of fact, childhood trauma can stop you, before you ever get started. Dr. John Bradshaw once said, " Abandement as a child is the single most devastating accurance in a persons life with far reaching implications in that persons life. The incarceration or divorce of a parent can create FEAR at such a deep place in your spirit. You will be paralyzed and not know why you can't move to where you need to be not from where you are. Now physical or emotional abuse as a child can make you reluctant to trust anyone for many years. But on the other hand, If you did not have a jacked - up childhood that you can point directly to and you are not moving forward like God wants you to do. You just might be lazy.
Laziness is a sin and sin is deadly because it SEPARATES us from not only our relationship with God. But it separate us from our relationship with others. You might ask, If sin is so deadly, why does God allow Sin to exist? well, I glad you asked that question. God allowed sin so that we might have a measuring stick to place our own character up against. His perfect and righteous character so that we will know when we are living according to the mandate and the rule that He has put before us as His children. Everyone in here has a family. You may not be talking to them right now, but along the way, you had a family and in that family, your grandmother or mother , somebody told you that you know how to act because you are apart of this family.
[Do I have a witness?] God uses Sin to help us know how to act because we are apart of His family since we have passed 11 years ol. we should know, right from wrong. Don't you know right from wrong? You didn't have to come to church to hear, right from wrong. You knew right from wrong last night! You knew right from wrong, last month, and last year, and before that. And so in this process we realize that there is something to Sin that we have to get our mind around. There are two expressions of Sin. The first expression is what we call "The sin of commission", those are the sins that we willfully commit knowingly against God' direction those are the things that we do know deep in our spirits that God would not be pleased with and those are the things that we know just are not right. And any time we commit sin and we know it's not right that's called a sin of commission. And in the verses leading up to our text today. Jesus tells a story about a person who commits the sin of commission. we find here the story of a wealthy entrepreneur, Jesus said that the man was going to take a long trip, so he called three (3) people to give the some money. The Bible says that he gave one worker $5,000, and he gave another worker $2,000, an he gave the third worker $1,000, and the bible says that the wealthy man went of on his journey. and when he had gone for a long time, he came back and told his workers show me what you have done with what I gave you. Well, in this story, we see that the first person that he gave 5,000 to came up to him and gave him $10,000 in return. In other words he doubled that investment.
